I have dreamt of this place.
The sound of rushing water.
Basking in God’s glory & enjoying quiet moments with our little family.
It was a vacation to remember (and great stories to tell).
Thank you “Wimber-land” (as Audrey calls it).
As many of you may know, Wimberely suffered many tragic losses as the Blanco was severely flooded. Homes along the Blanco were greatly affected.
We were greeted with a rush of emotions as we traveled over the Blanco bridge into town, where homes are missing from slabs, fires still burning to clear fallen debri, & piles of chairs, stuffed animals & belongings rest on the side of the road.
We planned this family trip several weeks prior to the flood, and I’m so glad we were able to still spend our vacation in this beloved town.
Tourism has been heavily affected due to media hype.
Stores are open.
Restaurants are open.
Downtown is still as cute as ever (with only one small building vacated due to the flood).
If you have a chance to go and visit, they need your support now more than ever!
